Our courses teach you how to make/formulate natural skincare and haircare products. As the term 'natural' is open to interpretation we use the COSMOS/Ecocert certification standards as a guideline. These are the most well respected, thorough and strict natural standards that exist today.
The ingredients we use, therefore, adhere to these guidelines in terms of what they are derived from and how they are processed. The preservatives and emulsifiers we use are ones that are permitted by the standard.
Within our courses you can also choose to formulate organic products and/or vegan products too if you wish. We also explore other values you may wish to adhere to, for example cruelty free, ethical, Fairtrade, and sustainable.

The term "natural" is sometimes difficult to define, as there are no laws clearly stating what it means, it is more of a personal choice. We wrote an article that explains more about it here:

We have also recently written a guide to formulating vegan skincare here: www.schoolofnaturalskincare.com/formulating-vegan-skin-care-products
