The program will enable you to formulate a wide range of natural skincare products for the face and body, plus take you to a more advanced level by developing your knowledge of specialist, high-performance active ingredients including vitamins, antioxidants, AHAs and BHAs, peptides and ceramides, and much more.

First, on the Diploma in Natural Skincare Formulation, you will gain all the foundational knowledge and skills to formulate a wide range of skincare products including facial oils, body and massage oils, dry oil body spray, bath and shower oils, cleansing oils, whipped body butters, balms and salves, soaks and scrubs, facial and body polishes, toners and spritzers, creams and lotions.
You will learn about formulating for your target audience, creating a brand, skincare product design, creating professional formulas, skin anatomy and physiology, cosmetic ingredients, lab techniques, and skills, preservation and microbiology, selling your products, and cosmetic regulations.
Then in the Advanced Certificate in High-Performance Serum Formulation, you will move on to look at more advanced ingredients such as advanced active ingredients, including vitamins and their derivatives, peptides and ceramides, AHAs and BHAs, and active ingredients that are toning, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, antimicrobial, skin brightening, skin barrier repairing, strengthening and offer sun protection.
You will learn to formulate six types of high-performance serum (oil-based serums, pressed serums, gel-based serums, emulsion-based serums, gel-cream serums and bi-phase serums) and how to formulate these to treat a range of skin concerns including anti-aging, antioxidation, soothing, calming, protecting, hydrating, firming/toning, brightening, anti-pigmentation, repairing, oil balancing, pore-reduction, anti-pollution and more.
You will also be able to apply the advanced ingredients you learn about to your other skincare formulations too, thereby really broadening your product range.
